Method:
Shake all the ingredients together with ice and then strain into a tumbler glass filled with crushed ice. Serve with a straw.
Additional notes:
Created by the legendary bartender Harry MacElhone and featured in his book “ABC of Mixing Cocktails” from 1922, the recipe was named for Dr Serge Voronoff’s research and experiments on rejuvenation. Don’t be put off by its strange name as the tangy, sweet, dry and herbal flavours go beautifully together. The original recipe includes Absinthe – however we prefer this version of the recipe featuring the herbal complexity of Bénédictine instead.
Garnish:
Garnish with pomegranate seeds for an eye catching splash of colour.
