Building'Building' drinks means making up the recipe by mixing the ingredients in the glass the finished cocktail will be served in usually a tumbler or highball. Ingredients are added into the glass one by one often over ice and then stirred for a few seconds only. This method is used on cocktails such as a Kir Royale which has a generous measure of De Kuyper Crème de Cassis or a Moscow Mule. Sometimes the cocktails are not stirred eg a Shark Bite or a Tequila Sunrise to achieve a particular colour effect with the De Kuyper Grenadine. Return to Knowing the basics |
