1950's Cocktails

FashionGlamour1950s fashion was all about glamour. After years of sensible dressing in muted colours during the war years, there was a need for something new.

In 1947, Christian Dior launched The New Look, which became the look of the 1950s. The New Look was all about Glamour with a capital ‘G’! Women welcomed the figure skimming outfits which created and accentuated womanly curves (and so did the men!), the bold use of colour and matching accessories including hats, gloves and shoes with slim Stiletto heels.

FrankFor men, although suits and tailoring were still the norm, there was a more relaxed feel to the shapes and fabrics, and for the first time, men could get away with wearing colour.
